A little more drawing — then into the studio.
I have some scrap brass left in the studio and some scrap ideas as well. I may have to throw them all in the etching tank yet. These would both be 1-1/2″ square.
Still tweaking to do but very close now.
Clouds and clean up next. Finished soon.
Now lacking only clothes and poetry.
Still pretty rough and awkward but at least I’m moving forward.
Is this seraph too sexy? I don’t know. Perhaps just too Disney.
Finally finished with “The Aeronaut.” There may be some minor tweaks before I start etching brass but I’m calling it done.
“The Aeronaut.” Recto.
“The Aeronaut.” Verso.
Now the shame is covered.
It is a challenge to draw these figures and remember to leave space for the verse — especially when it hasn’t been composed. I fussed considerably trying to decide where to place these lines and then I had to stretch and re-draw various elements. One of the many reasons I prefer to work in Illustrator.
It may not look like three hours of work but, nonetheless, it is satisfying.
