Tiny ship automaton

I was reminded of this splendid little thing in a comment over at The Automata / Automaton Facebook Group today. Two-hundred years old but it still runs even if it lacks some of the more perishable original parts.

Will anything spring from my studio to last long enough to delight the generation of two centuries from now? Perhaps with work and extraordinary luck. But I’ll never know. I guess none of us will.

  1. Such a beautiful and moving piece of art. Thank you for sharing. I love the articulation of the ship as it passes through the rough waters.

What say you?
